The photo is from the Hermiston Herald newspaper, which reported in July 1992 that anglers fishing on the Columbia River will now be checked on a regular basis for violations harming anadromous fish such as salmon, steelhead and sturgeon, thanks to the Bonneville Power Association (BPA). The Oregon State Police recently received a 19 ft. aluminum jet boat with 200 hp motor, funded by GPA, for Columbia River Fish and Wildlife patrol. Cost of the boat, fully equipped, totaled $25,000.
